Desert Animals & Tide Pools

On July 15 our last summer break classes were about Desert Animals and Tide Pools. The participants created a mandela sand art and a wind chime out of a star fish and sea urchin spines. The string for the wind chimes was not the easiest to knot, so adults had to assist. There are no photos of the chimes because I was peeling hot glue from my fingers. Sorry.

Insects & Nature Mozaics

July 14 was all about Insects and the second program was nature-themed mozaics.

Forests & Reptiles

July 13, our summer break programs were about forests, pinecones, and reptiles. We created a tree disc, planted a real pine tree to take home and painted a reptile.

Leaf & Flower Press

July 12 was leaf/flower presses along with individualizing a water bottle holder.

Peacock & Hedgehogs

Our first Summer break programs (Eggs & Feathers & Armored Animals ) on July 11 was well received by those attending. Here are some photos.

Learn to Zentangle

Join us in the library on Thursday from 6:00-7:00ish p.m. for a Zentangle class with Bernie. This is the library’s summer reading program for adults AND teens. We have 26 spots open. It’s free. We’ll provide the supplies for you to learn about Zentangle (not doodling) and create a “tile.” Should you feel inspired to continue this art on your own, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a kit which includes 4 Apprentice tiles, pigma pen, Zentangle pencil, and blending stump for $5. Bernie is not a certified Zentangle teacher but someone who loves the art. The library has several new books on the subject. So come out to relax, create and be inspired.
